Why Volunteer Tree Care
Our Mission
Develop relationships with St. Louis residents to increase knowledge of tree care and improve the Urban Forest in our neighborhoods.
Unlike forest saplings, our urban trees are surrounded by pavement and need a little help.
Routine care improves individual city trees’ health and lifespan; the long-term result is a denser, more vibrant urban canopy.
Budgets don’t fund enough proactive maintenance, but trained volunteers can handle many key tasks.
Volunteers Receive:
- Hands-on training by tree pros
- Access to tools and materials
- Outreach, educational documents
Volunteers Provide:
- Mulch, water, & clearance pruning
- Early warning of tree problems
- Community input
